Baltimore Healthy Start, Inc. is a recognized programmatic success within the array of 105 federally funded Healthy Start programs nationally and is an accredited Healthy Families America site. We offer a number of programs and services geared to help support mother, fathers, and their families living in our targeted communities, through all stages of parenting: from preconception to pregnancy to postpartum and between pregnancies, and during a child’s first few years of life — and beyond.
Our services and resources include:
- Regular home visits by a Community Health Worker (frequency and term vary depending on program) utilizing interventions such as the Growing Great Kids curriculum.
- Wellness services, including family planning, Belly Buddies, Sister Circle, preventive screenings to identify early pregnancy complications, and mental health and other health screenings, with appropriate referrals.
- Family engagement services, including GED classes, Parent Leadership Group, monthly events transportation to health care appointments and center services.
- Community engagement opportunities include the Community Action Network and Advisory Board.
