Baltimore City health officials announced Wednesday that in 2015, Baltimore City experienced the lowest infant mortality rate on record: 8.4 per 1,000 live births—a 19 percent decline from 2014. The previous low of 9.7 deaths per 1,000 live births was recorded in 2012 ! Stay tuned so that you can be part of our celebration of this momentous event on during our 25th year anniversary!

Dr. Michael C. Lu, Associate Administrator Maternal and Child Health Health Resources and Services Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that our program has an infant mortality rate of 5.2 across all 100 federal Healthy Start sites! That beats the national infant mortality rate of 5.82 (2014). Go Healthy Start!
